Light the fire as the sun goes down, listen to the logs crackle and, an hour or two later, sink into water warmed by flame. The Polar Ember is a 2 person wood fired hot tub that turns an ordinary evening in the garden into something memorable: steam drifting into cold air, a drink within reach and stars appearing overhead. With the Off Grid Package there's no plug and no pump, just fire, water and time to talk.
The Ember is clad in premium Thermowood, with a high-strength fibreglass liner shaped into ergonomic seating and polyurethane insulation to keep the heat in for longer. A high-grade stainless steel wood-fired heater with chimney, rain cap and heat guard warms around 700 litres of water by natural convection: hot water rises and cooler water sinks, so it circulates without a pump. With a good fire you can expect to be soaking in about 1 to 1.5 hours in summer and 1.5 to 2 hours in winter. Burn dry hardwood or softwood, then close down the air vent to hold the temperature, much as you would with a log burner.
Choose the Off Grid Package for a pure wood-fired soak with no electricity needed, or the Lux Package, which adds hydro massage jets, air bubble massage blowers and colour-changing LED lighting and needs a standard 13A, 3-pin socket nearby. Both include the insulated lid, two-tier access steps, a drinks holder and sturdy support bands on a base frame. Filled, the tub weighs close to a tonne, so it needs a firm, level, well-drained base such as a concrete pad, decking built to take the load, or compacted hardcore topped with gravel.
