LuxR M2 Spike Spot Light

The LuxR Modux Two Spike Spot is the brighter version of the Modux One, built for when you need a bit extra from your outdoor lighting.

Push it's spike into soil or turf, aim the head where you like, wire it up, and it’s good to go.

It’s a low-voltage, dimmable LED spot, making it safe and efficient. Additionally, it's modular design allows you to change beam angles, swap LED colours or refresh the optics by switching out the relevant parts.

Key Features:

  • It outputs approximately 170 lumens

  • Choose from marine-grade 316 stainless steel, natural copper, or powder-coated aluminium (in a choice of eco-matt finishes).

  • IP68 certified, meaning it has little to no issues with water.

  • Comes with beam/optic flexibility - 26°, 36°, or 74° beam spreads, and clear or frosted lenses, or optional hexcell/glare control.

  • Colour options: 2700K, 3000K, 4000K (warm / neutral whites), or Red, Green, Blue, Amber.

  • The LED is replaceable, using a Cree XPG-3 LED module.

  • You’ll need a 700 mA constant-current driver (remote) or use integral AC / DC variants (12VAC, 24VDC) if the setup allows. We can supply you with the relevant driver.

  • LED life expectancy: approximately 50,000 hours.

  • Warranties: 5 years on electronics, 10 years on copper / stainless body, 5 years on aluminium powder-coat).

Series vs Parallel

Series vs Parallel Circuits

When planning your outdoor lighting, it helps to understand how series and parallel circuits work, so you can pick the setup that suits your space.

What Are They?

Series circuits connect lights one after another along a single path, meaning the same current flows through each light.

Parallel circuits connect each light directly to the power source, so each operates independently. The type of circuit you choose affects brightness, maintenance, and overall layout.

Why Choose Series?

Series circuits are straightforward to install and need less wiring, making them a practical choice for many outdoor lighting setups. They provide a uniform glow across all lights and are easy to extend along a path or around a patio. With modern outdoor lights being highly reliable, interruptions are rare, meaning series circuits can offer a simple, efficient, and visually pleasing solution for most homes.

Why Choose Parallel?

Parallel circuits allow each light to operate independently, so if one fails, the rest continue to shine. They give consistent brightness across all bulbs and are flexible if you plan to move or add lights later. However, they can be slightly more complex to install and requires more cabling (legally required to use armoured cables).

Both types of circuits have their advantages, but for a clean, efficient setup that delivers a consistent glow, most homeowners find series circuits the better option.

Which Material To Choose?

Powder-Coated Light Fittings (Standard)

Powder-coated lights are a cost-effective option with plenty of colour and finish choices, making them versatile for many designs. The coating provides protection, though it can chip or fade over time in harsh outdoor conditions. Perfect for customers seeking budget-friendly, stylish lighting without the premium longevity of copper or stainless steel.

Copper Light Fittings (Premium)

Copper develops a beautiful natural patina over time, changing from warm brown to green verdigris, giving each light a unique character. Extremely durable and corrosion-resistant, copper actually becomes more protected as it ages. Its timeless, elegant look makes it a statement material, perfect for customers who want a high-end fixture that gains character with age.

Stainless Steel Light Fittings (Premium)

Stainless steel offers a sleek, modern appearance that stays consistent over time. Highly resistant to rust, corrosion, and staining - especially marine-grade (316) stainless steel - it requires very little maintenance. Ideal for customers who want a long-lasting, contemporary look without the natural ageing process of copper.
