LuxR M1 Spike Spot Light

The LuxR Modux One Spike Spot is the perfect little powerhouse solution for your outdoor lighting. Small in size, but a mightily large effect.

Simply push the metal spike into soil (or turf), aim the light at the target area, and your landscape has been transformed.

It’s dimmable and low-voltage, so it’s safe and efficient, and can optionally come with a driver.

Our range of LuxR lights are modular, so you can swap the optic to adjust beam width, or even replace the Cree LED if you fancy a different colour later down the line.

Key Features:

  • Choose from marine-grade 316 stainless steel, natural copper, or powder-coated aluminium.

  • It is IP68 rated, meaning that it’s protected even underwater!

  • Its standard light output is approximately 80 lumens (comparable to 9w of halogen), great for lighting up outdoor features, pathways, plants, and so on.

  • Multiple beam angle options (15°, 30°, 53°, or 50+17°) and lens options (clear or frosted).

  • Colour options: warm white (2700K, 3000K), neutral white (4000K), and even Red / Green / Blue / Amber.

  • Simple replacement with a modular pin mounted LED. Get in touch if you'd like to purchase parts.

  • Series circuit with the option to add a 350mA driver.

Series vs Parallel

Series vs Parallel Circuits

When planning your outdoor lighting, it helps to understand how series and parallel circuits work, so you can pick the setup that suits your space.

What Are They?

Series circuits connect lights one after another along a single path, meaning the same current flows through each light.

Parallel circuits connect each light directly to the power source, so each operates independently. The type of circuit you choose affects brightness, maintenance, and overall layout.

Why Choose Series?

Series circuits are straightforward to install and need less wiring, making them a practical choice for many outdoor lighting setups. They provide a uniform glow across all lights and are easy to extend along a path or around a patio. With modern outdoor lights being highly reliable, interruptions are rare, meaning series circuits can offer a simple, efficient, and visually pleasing solution for most homes.

Why Choose Parallel?

Parallel circuits allow each light to operate independently, so if one fails, the rest continue to shine. They give consistent brightness across all bulbs and are flexible if you plan to move or add lights later. However, they can be slightly more complex to install and requires more cabling (legally required to use armoured cables).

Both types of circuits have their advantages, but for a clean, efficient setup that delivers a consistent glow, most homeowners find series circuits the better option.

Which Material To Choose?

Powder-Coated Light Fittings (Standard)

Powder-coated lights are a cost-effective option with plenty of colour and finish choices, making them versatile for many designs. The coating provides protection, though it can chip or fade over time in harsh outdoor conditions. Perfect for customers seeking budget-friendly, stylish lighting without the premium longevity of copper or stainless steel.

Copper Light Fittings (Premium)

Copper develops a beautiful natural patina over time, changing from warm brown to green verdigris, giving each light a unique character. Extremely durable and corrosion-resistant, copper actually becomes more protected as it ages. Its timeless, elegant look makes it a statement material, perfect for customers who want a high-end fixture that gains character with age.

Stainless Steel Light Fittings (Premium)

Stainless steel offers a sleek, modern appearance that stays consistent over time. Highly resistant to rust, corrosion, and staining - especially marine-grade (316) stainless steel - it requires very little maintenance. Ideal for customers who want a long-lasting, contemporary look without the natural ageing process of copper.
