For a fireplace that feels truly bespoke, the Icon Fires Slimline Firebox SFB1350 Built-In Bioethanol Fireplace in Black is a beautiful place to start. It's a slimline built-in firebox from Icon Fires, powered by its own Slimline burner, made to be set into a wall or media unit so the flames sit within a crisp, minimal frame. No chimney is needed, which gives you the freedom to create a real fire feature in rooms where one was never possible before.

It measures 135 x 60 x 31.5cm (W x H x D) and weighs 62.3kg, and is made from stainless steel with a black finish. A 6.25-litre fuel capacity gives up to 9 hours of flame per fill and it produces up to 7.7kW of heat. The flame can be adjusted to suit the mood.

It needs no chimney, flue or electricity. It's a sophisticated way to add the atmosphere of a real fire to a contemporary home.
