The Duo Timber Tent Glamping Pod Kit

The Duo Timber Tent is the most popular of the Timber Tent family. It's unique look makes it a real eye catcher for all the right reasons, and it's size means that you have enough space to style it however you want.

It includes all the features of the Timber Tent - fully insulated with Structural Insulated Panels (SIPs), manufactured in Britain, optional grass-topped roof, easy installation, and much more.

This is the ideal choice for glamping sites, eco-retreats, or a garden building.

Key Features:

  • Structural Insulated Panels (SIPs): Includes 98mm SIPs for the floor and walls, and 122mm panels for the roof.

  • Energy Efficient Design: Airtight construction and high-performance insulation help reduce heating and cooling costs, making the pod comfortable in all 12 months of the year.

  • Complete Pod Kit: Includes SIP panels, SIP joining splines, C24 structural timbers, UPVC windows and doors, Thermowood external cladding, treated timber feature panels, rubber roof system with trims and adhesive, and all fixings. Everything you need to get set up.

  • Self-Build Ready: Straightforward to assemble with detailed instructions included. Professional installation is also available across the UK.

  • Fully Customisable With Optional Add Ons: The Extended Timber Tent can be customised to fit your requirements, as well as having the option of coming with almost any add on you can image, from all types of furniture to electrical kits. You name it, we'll provide it.

About Our SIP Panels

SIPs, or Structural Insulated Panels, are advanced building materials made from a rigid insulating foam core sandwiched between two layers of structural board. In the Extended Timber Tent, these panels form the core of the walls, roof, and floor.

What does this mean for you?

  • Exceptional thermal insulation - Avoid excessive heating bills with thermal class 2 & 3.

  • High structural strength - The average lifetime of these panels are 50 years.

  • Faster build times - panels slot together making it simple to build.

Planning Permission & the Caravan Act

One of the major advantages of the Extended Timber Tent is that it has been designed to comply with the Caravan Act, which means that in many cases, planning permission may not be required.

Under the Caravan Sites and Control of Development Act 1960 and the Caravan Sites Act 1968, certain structures that qualify as “caravans” - including static pods like the Extended Timber Tent - can be sited without formal planning consent, particularly when used as ancillary accommodation within the garden of a main dwelling.

However, planning regulations can vary, so it's always worth checking with your local authority. However, thanks to its compliance with the Act’s size and mobility requirements, the Extended Timber Tent is a strong candidate for use without the need for a full planning application.
